Description
The MacGregor Safe/Soft Level 1 is a soft training baseball designed for beginning players ages 5 through 7. Sold by the dozen, this soft training baseball uses MacGregor’s patented Tri-Flex safety core to reduce impact energy on contact, helping young players build confidence as they learn to catch, throw, and field without the fear of injury from a hard regulation ball.

- Meets NOCSAE standard for reduced-impact baseballs
- Patented Tri-Flex safety core
- Leather cover
- Raised red seams for visibility and grip
- Youth league size
- Sold by the dozen (12 baseballs per order)

Level 1 is the softest option in the MacGregor Safe/Soft line, built specifically for the 5-7 age group where players are handling a baseball for the first time in tee ball and coach-pitch leagues. At this age, players are still developing hand-eye coordination and reaction time. A regulation baseball moving at even moderate speeds can cause enough pain on contact to make a young player reluctant to field ground balls or stand in on a pitch. The Tri-Flex core absorbs enough impact to keep practice productive rather than intimidating, while the leather cover and raised seams give the ball the same look and feel as a regulation baseball so players develop proper grip and throwing mechanics from the start.
For older players ages 8-12 moving into competitive youth leagues, the Level 5 safety baseballs provide a firmer feel that matches the speed of play at that age group. All levels meet NOCSAE standards for youth league use.
