Description

The Replacement Slip-On Sock Net is a direct replacement net manufactured for the Collegiate Sock Net and Frame Protector Screen used during baseball and softball batting practice. The sock-style net wraps completely around the frame and features a deep pocket that catches and contains batted balls rather than deflecting them, and this replacement restores that containment capability when the original sock net wears out.

Sock nets absorb more sustained stress than flat-panel nets because the deep pocket cradles each ball through a longer deceleration arc, stretching the fibers with every impact. Over time, this repeated stretching weakens the netting material, particularly in the center pocket where the heaviest impacts land. The bottom of the pocket also wears from balls rolling and shifting against the netting as they accumulate. When the sock net develops holes, tears, or stretches to the point where balls begin passing through or bouncing out of the pocket, replacement is needed to maintain both the protective and ball-containment functions. The slip-on design makes the swap quick — the old net slides off and the new one slides on using the same frame with no hardware changes.
