Description

You may be asking: Can a quality American-manufactured portable pickleball net really be sold for less than the imported brand names?

Yes. But don’t take our word for it.

“We have two of these pickleball nets and they are just fantastic. I’ve played on permanent net posts, temp nets, the Selkirk 001, and everything in between. This is the best. And for the money, it’s not even close.”

What is Titan Zinc Primer?

Our standard professional powder coat finish provides a heavy-duty, commercial grade barrier engineered to withstand the rigors of daily play and high traffic environments. For owners seeking the ultimate level of protection, we offer the Titan Zinc Primer upgrade. This industrial process adds a sacrificial zinc layer beneath the final color coat. It effectively triples the corrosion resistance of the system and prevents rust from spreading if the frame is ever deeply scratched. It is the premier choice for long-term finish preservation.

Steel vs. Aluminum

Why steel? Why not aluminum?

We build with steel, not aluminum. Here’s why.

  • Aluminum flexes under tension. Steel doesn’t.
  • Steel is 3x stiffer than aluminum.
  • Aluminum experiences creep — it slowly, permanently deforms over time. Steel does not.
  • Aluminum doesn’t rust, but it tarnishes and pits. The dull, chalky finish doesn’t polish off.
  • Steel is and has been the tennis industry standard for over a century. Today’s standard is powder-coated steel.

Additional Features

  • Supportless Frame: The 22′ span stays rigid without a center support.
  • Raised Frame Design: The frame sits 6″ off the ground so balls roll under the net.
  • Heavy-Duty External Winder: A galvanized steel crank with a removable handle sets exact net tension.
  • Modular Storage: The frame breaks down into 5-foot sections for easy storage.

Why Buy From Spartan Athletic Mfg.

Spartan Athletic Co. has been selling sports equipment since 2012. Our founder is a former Certified Tennis Court Builder, a credential from the American Sports Builders Association — the national authority for sports facility construction.

“Having experienced gameplay on both Joola and Selkirk nets, I can unequivocally state that the Spartan net competes at par with them, all while being available at a fraction of the cost.”

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to set up?

The initial net assembly takes about 30-45 minutes. Subsequent breakdowns and reassemblies take about 15-20 minutes.

Is this regulation for tournament play?

Yes. Built to USAPA specifications — 22 feet wide, 36 inches at the posts, 34 inches at the center.

How heavy is it? Can one person move it?

The full system weighs 128 pounds. With the optional locking casters, one person can roll it across a court. Without wheels, 2-3 people are recommended for moving.

What’s the warranty?

Spartan Athletic Co. warrants its Heavy-Duty Pickleball Net System to be free of defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase.

Where do I get replacement parts?

Direct from us.

Do I need the locking casters?

Only if you’ll be moving the net. Choose wheels if you’ll move it between courts or in and out of storage. Skip them if it’s staying in one location.

Can I add wheels later?

No. We build each system specifically for wheels or no wheels — the post heights differ between the two configurations.

Do I need the Titan Zinc Primer upgrade?

No. The standard powder coat finish is the commercial industry standard for outdoor sports equipment and is engineered for daily play in sun and rain. Titan Zinc Primer is an optional upgrade for owners who want maximum long-term protection.

Can you build a custom size?

Yes. Contact us with your specifications.

Do you ship ground or LTL freight?

Orders of 1-3 nets ship via UPS or FedEx ground. Orders of 4 or more nets ship via LTL carrier.

Why don’t you sponsor tournaments or use famous athletes to promote your products?

We believe we should earn our reputation, not buy one.

We are extremely happy with our net. Very solid and well made. Easy to put together. Great price for what you get.

  2. Roman (verified owner)

We have two of these Pickleball nets and they are just fantastic. Ive played on perm net posts, temp nets, the Selkirk 001, and everything in between. This is the best. And for the money, it’s not even close. I have Moneyball Pro tourney here and all the players just say “it’s the best they’ve played on. Perfect.”

  3. Victor Sinclair (verified owner)

Quality product, well made, super easy to build. Really fast shipping Pennsylvania to California three days. We bought two first one took 45 minutes to build, second one fifteen minutes. Great customer service. Highly recommended this net and company.

  4. Sienca B (verified owner)

Nets are great. They are heavy duty and high quality. Easy to assemble. The players at my facility love them. I’d highly recommend this product to anyone looking for pickleball nets.

  5. Grant Harrison (verified owner)

We have a small club with four outdoor courts. We decided to try two of the Spartan Nets on two of our courts. We are very happy with the nets and the cost savings over nets being used by APP and PPA are tremendous. While not as heavy duty as the leading nets, these were able to be shipped Fed Ex instead of motor freight. Overall, we are pleased with the nets, but there are a few areas the nets could be improved: 1- put the set screws on the bottom of the cross bar pieces for better weather resistance, 2- the cable crank on the inside of the net post interferes with the net and you can’t use the fiberglass dowel in this end of the net, 3- it would be nice to have a center strap included, 4- it would be good to have rubber feet under the end posts and center support. These are just suggestions for future improvements. We would buy these nets again.

After thoroughly testing the Spartan Heavy Duty Pickleball Net over the past few weeks, I can confidently assert that, considering cost, value, and quality, this net offers the best bang for your buck. Transitioning from the AllN net, which served as a commendable starter net, I found the Spartan net elevates the game to a whole new level. Having experienced gameplay on both Joola and Selkirk nets, I can unequivocally state that the Spartan net competes at par with them, all while being available at a fraction of the cost. I highly recommend this net without question.

  7. Audrey (verified owner)

The portable pickleball net is great for our driveway. Wheels are a bit stiff on asphalt.

  11. Silas T (verified owner)

After spending a lot of time researching all the nets out there, we decided on this net and couldn’t be happier. The net is very sturdy. The net tension is really good. It’s very easy to move. We received the net really fast as well. So overall a great buy.

  12. Julie H (verified owner)

  15. Adrian Wolfe (verified owner)

Very solid and durable. Easy to put together. I was considering going with an aluminum net but I’m so happy I went with this metal frame.

  16. Xavier Wu (verified owner)

Solid construction. Adding to two Joola nets we have. I like this design without the center wheels as we found the Joola indented our tennis courts.

  17. Jennifer (verified owner)

The pickleball nets are good quality. They do the job well for our community center.

  18. Marcus Thorne (verified owner)

    Glad we purchased

  19. Mark (verified owner)

The heavy duty portable pickleball net is a great addition to our facility.

  20. Steve B (verified owner)

We are very happy with the net. The steel frame is really solid and we get great net tension. It’s very easy to move off the court. No complaints at all.

  21. Michael (verified owner)

The heavy duty portable pickleball net is perfect for our club. No complaints on performance. We went with the no wheels version because we won’t be moving the nets much. Solid build. Easy intstall. Very happy.
