Description

The 5′ x 3′ Premium Nail Drag is a tow-behind infield grooming tool built for scarifying and loosening compacted clay on baseball and softball diamonds. The unit features 117 steel grooming nails — each measuring 6″ long by 1/4″ diameter — mounted in a welded steel frame. When pulled across the infield behind an ATV, utility vehicle, or riding mower, the nails penetrate the top layer of compacted dirt to break up hardpan, improve water absorption, and create a loose, playable surface.

Nail drags are one of the most effective tools for preventing infield surfaces from becoming too hard and slick, which creates unsafe footing for fielders and base runners. Regular scarification with a nail drag also helps infield conditioner and moisture penetrate deeper into the soil profile, which improves the long-term quality and consistency of the playing surface.

The welded steel frame is built for repeated use across full-size and youth diamonds. Integrated wheels and a tongue allow for easy transport between fields and storage when not in use. All attachment hardware and pull chains are included.
