Building and maintaining a regulation baseball or softball field requires reliable equipment that holds up across a full season of games, practices, and weather exposure. The equipment listed on this page is sourced from established manufacturers and selected for compliance with specifications set by governing bodies including the NCAA, NFHS, Little League, Babe Ruth, Cal Ripken, Dixie, and Pony leagues. Whether you are outfitting a new facility or replacing worn equipment at an existing one, the information below covers what is available in each product category and what to consider when selecting the right option for your program.
Field covers protect mound clay, base areas, and infield skin from rain, frost, and wind erosion. They are one of the most cost-effective investments a program can make, as unprotected infield surfaces can require extensive reconditioning after even a single heavy rain event. Our field covers are available in two material weights: 6 oz. vinyl, which is lighter and easier for smaller crews to deploy, and 18 oz. vinyl, which provides heavier-duty protection and greater wind resistance for facilities in exposed locations.
Covers come in both weighted and non-weighted configurations. Weighted covers feature material sewn into the perimeter hem that holds the cover flat against the surface without requiring stakes, sandbags, or additional anchoring — a significant advantage when covers need to be deployed quickly before incoming weather. Non-weighted covers are a more economical option and work well in sheltered or low-wind environments.
Mound covers are available in round configurations with diameters ranging from 15 feet to 30 feet to accommodate youth, high school, and collegiate mound dimensions. Base covers are available as 10-foot by 10-foot squares, sold individually or in sets of three. We also carry full infield protector tarps in multiple size configurations, from 15'x18'x48' for smaller youth fields up to 20'x20'x60' for regulation collegiate and professional diamonds.
Properly anchored bases and pitcher's rubbers are fundamental to both regulation play and player safety. Our base selection spans the full range of competition levels, from recreational-grade rubber bases to professional-specification shock-absorbing bases engineered to reduce impact injuries on slides. Double first bases — which provide a separate safety bag in foul territory for the batter-runner — are available in standard, premium, and recreational models to meet softball and youth baseball league requirements.
Pitcher's rubbers are available in several configurations. Standard fixed rubbers mount permanently with ground anchors. Removable pitcher's plates use an anchor-and-plug system that allows the rubber to be pulled up when the mound is being used for other purposes or during field maintenance. Step-down rubbers and four-way rubbers are also available for facilities that host multiple age groups on a single mound. Ground anchors and base plugs are sold separately for replacement or new installations.
Home plates include molded rubber recreational models as well as regulation-weight plates. Magnetic bases are also available for youth programs where quick installation and removal on shared fields is a priority.
Protective screens are essential safety equipment for batting practice, pitching drills, and infield warm-ups. An L-shaped pitcher's screen protects the coach or pitcher throwing batting practice while leaving an open side for ball delivery. C-shaped screens provide wrap-around protection for softball pitching situations where the shorter distance between the mound and the plate creates less reaction time.
Our screen inventory includes mini L-screens for facilities with limited space or cage dimensions, full-size pro L-screens for standard batting practice setups, first base and fungo screens for infield drill protection, and sock net protector screens that absorb ball impact rather than deflecting it. Tri-fold screens are available for multi-purpose protection that can be repositioned as needed.
All screen models have replacement nets available separately, which allows programs to extend the working life of their existing frames rather than replacing the entire unit when netting wears through.
Enclosed batting areas allow hitters to take swings without the need for outfield space or ball shagging personnel. Our batting cage options range from portable, foldable cages that can be set up and broken down for storage, to larger semi-permanent tunnel frame systems available in three-section and four-section configurations.
Tunnel frames are available in both varsity and pro specifications. These frame systems pair with separately available netting to create full tunnel enclosures suitable for both baseball and softball hitting practice. For programs that need a permanent or semi-permanent outdoor hitting facility, the Big Bubba line of batting cages provides a complete enclosed structure.
Consistent field maintenance directly affects playing conditions, drainage, and player safety. Pre-game and post-game field preparation typically involves dragging the infield skin to level the surface, grooming the mound and home plate areas, and marking baselines and batter's boxes.
Our field grooming equipment includes all-steel drag mats for leveling infield surfaces, nail drags for breaking up compacted soil, and combination field groomers that perform multiple functions in a single pass. The Diamond Digger field groomer provides teeth for scarification and a leveling bar for finishing in one unit, with replacement teeth and wheels available for ongoing maintenance. Infield finishing brooms smooth the final surface before game time, and field tampers compact clay on the mound and around home plate.
Dry line markers are available in two-wheel and four-wheel configurations for chalking baselines, batter's boxes, and coach's boxes. Four-wheel models offer greater stability and more consistent line width, while two-wheel markers are lighter and more maneuverable for touch-up work. Replacement wheels are stocked for both types.
We carry game and practice balls approved for competition across all major youth and amateur governing bodies. Baseball options include raised-seam and flat-seam constructions in specifications certified for Little League, Babe Ruth, Cal Ripken, Dixie, Pony, and NFHS high school play. Professional and collegiate-grade baseballs are also available for advanced programs.
For younger players, safety baseballs are available in graduated compression levels — Level 1 for ages 5 through 7 and Level 5 for ages 8 through 12 — which reduce the hardness of the ball while maintaining a realistic size and weight for skill development. Indoor and outdoor tee balls are available for introductory programs.
Our softball selection includes NFHS-approved 12-inch fastpitch softballs and Little League softballs, sold by the dozen for practice and game use.
Portable outfield fencing systems allow programs to establish temporary field boundaries on multi-use athletic fields without permanent installation. This is a practical solution for recreation departments, travel ball organizations, and schools that share field space across multiple sports. Fence guard padding is available to cap the top rail of both portable and permanent outfield fences for player safety.
Foul poles provide the vertical visual reference required for umpires to make fair-and-foul determinations on fly balls hit near the outfield corners. Our foul poles are designed for straightforward installation on both new and existing fields.
