Drag mats level and smooth the infield skin surface after practice and before games, redistributing loose material and eliminating cleat marks and low spots that affect drainage and footing. All-steel drag mats are available in five size configurations — 3'x4', 3'x5', 6'x3', 6'x6', and 10'x6' — to match the coverage area required for fields of different scales. Larger mats cover more ground per pass but require a vehicle or ATV for towing; smaller mats can be pulled by hand or attached to a utility vehicle for tight spaces around the mound and home plate areas.
The Heavy Duty drag mat (6'6"W x 4'L) provides a heavier steel construction for facilities with compacted or clay-heavy infield surfaces where lighter mats do not achieve sufficient penetration depth. The Monster Drag Mat covers a wide surface area in a single pass for programs managing larger infield skin areas efficiently. Rigid drag mats combine a steel mesh surface with a rigid frame that maintains consistent contact across uneven terrain, reducing the washboard effect that flexible mats can produce on rolled or crowned infield surfaces.
Nail drags penetrate compacted infield soil before dragging, breaking up the surface crust that develops after repeated play and foot traffic. Running a nail drag before a standard drag mat produces a more consistent finished surface by loosening compacted material that a flat drag mat alone cannot penetrate. The 5'x3' Premium Nail Drag is available as a standalone unit and in combination with a rigid drag mat that finishes the surface in a single pass. Replacement nails are stocked for the 5'x3' Premium Nail Drag for programs maintaining existing equipment rather than replacing the full unit.
Field groomers perform multiple surface preparation functions in a single pass. The Diamond Digger Field Groomer combines a scarification tooth bar with a leveling drag, breaking up compacted surface material and redistributing it in one operation. Replacement teeth and wheels are available separately for ongoing maintenance. The Baseball Big League Field Drag is a professional-grade grooming unit suited for programs managing high-use infields that require more aggressive surface reconditioning between uses. The Field Cut N' Level Drag provides a blade-and-level system for programs that need to cut down high spots and redistribute material across low areas of the infield skin.
Dry line markers apply chalk lines for baselines, batter's boxes, catcher's boxes, coach's boxes, and the on-deck circle. Two-wheel markers are lightweight and maneuverable for touch-up work and detail lining on smaller areas. Four-wheel markers provide greater stability and more consistent line width across long baseline runs — the 65 lb. capacity model handles larger chalk loads to reduce refilling frequency during full field preparation. The 4-wheel pneumatic tire model adds pneumatic tires for smoother operation on uneven or soft field surfaces. Replacement wheels and pneumatic tires are stocked for both marker types.
The aluminum maintenance rake is a dual-sided tool used for final surface smoothing of the infield skin before game time, available in 24", 36", and 48" widths. Wider models cover more surface area per stroke for large infield skin areas; narrower models provide more control for detail work around the bases and in the batter's box. The Double Play Rake provides a heavier-duty raking option for programs dealing with heavily textured or loose infield surfaces that require more aggressive material redistribution before final finishing.
The field tamp is used to compact clay on the pitcher's mound and in the home plate area after watering or reconditioning, restoring a firm, consistent surface before play. Proper tamping after mound maintenance prevents the soft spots and uneven footing that develop when mound clay is worked but not adequately compacted before use.
Replacement parts are stocked for the primary maintenance equipment lines carried on this page — including nail drag replacement nails, Diamond Digger replacement teeth and wheels, dry line marker replacement wheels, and pneumatic tires for 4-wheel markers. Maintaining a replacement parts inventory prevents equipment downtime during the season when a worn or broken component would otherwise take a piece of field maintenance equipment out of service.
