Description

The Collegiate C-Shaped Softball Pitchers Protector Screen wraps around the pitcher’s position in the circle, providing three-sided protection that accommodates the windmill pitching motion used in fastpitch softball. The C-shaped frame curves around the pitcher so that the delivery arm can move through its full arc without contacting the screen, while netting on the front and both sides blocks batted balls coming from a wide range of angles.

This design addresses a limitation of flat-panel pitcher protector screens in softball: during the windmill delivery, the pitcher’s body rotates and their arm extends well outside the footprint of a flat screen. A flat panel that is wide enough to protect a pitcher in the set position may not cover them at full extension during the delivery. The C-shape maintains protection throughout the entire pitching motion, from wind-up through follow-through.

The collegiate-grade frame and netting are built for the practice intensity and ball velocities encountered at the high school and college levels. At 43 feet (college distance), batted balls reach the pitcher in under half a second, making reliable screen protection a safety necessity rather than an optional convenience.
