The Collegiate Softball Pitchers Protector Screen is a flat-panel protective screen built for fastpitch softball batting practice. This screen is positioned in front of the pitcher’s circle to block line drives and hard ground balls hit back toward the pitcher during live hitting sessions. The flat-panel design provides a continuous wall of netting with no cutout, offering unbroken protection across the full width and height of the screen.

Softball pitchers face a compounding safety challenge: the pitching distance in fastpitch softball (43 feet at the collegiate level) is significantly shorter than in baseball, and batted ball exit velocities at the college level are substantial enough to cause serious injury. The combination of shorter distance and high exit velocity gives the pitcher less than half a second to react to a batted ball — well below the threshold for a reliable defensive reaction.
