This net includes the overhead hood section that provides additional protection above the pitcher’s cutout, replacing both the main panel and hood netting in one piece.

The hood section of this L-screen net provides overhead protection that standard L-screen nets do not offer. During batting practice, pop flies and high line drives can arc over the top of a standard L-screen and strike the pitcher from above — the hood catches these balls before they clear the top of the frame. This is particularly important at the collegiate level where batted balls come off the bat with greater velocity and steeper launch angles. The net area around the pitcher’s cutout wears fastest because it absorbs the highest concentration of direct line drive impacts. When holes or significant stretching appear in this zone, the replacement net restores full protection using the same mounting configuration as the factory original.
