The cross over zone track protectors provide protection against damage from cleats, shoes and wheeled grounds equipment.  The cross over protectors should be placed at the entry point to the running track not only to provide protection  but to also to help minimize wear and tear to the track surface from over-usage.  A steel chain is sewn into the perimeter edge of the track protector which will keep the protector down even in high winds.  No need for stakes, sand bags or other weights.  The vinyl edge is available in yellow or white so that it clearly stands out and alleviates any tripping hazards.  The cross over track protectors are significantly lighter than track crossing mats and the geotextile fabric allows water to pass through.
